Mainly about stuff I do, photos I find or take, writings, some video as well as a bit of randomness and the occasional plug for something I dig.

Currently working on a variety of projects and attempting to keep myself from being distracted. I play shows, but rarely. Occasionally make records or do improvised performances as part of I/O3. In another life I was part of groups Not From There and Nightstick.

If you want to burden yourself with my 140 character long observations, try twitter, failing that you may visit the shrine over at Facebook. To hear or buy the latest sounds I've made just head over to the bandcamp site. For what it's worth - there is also heinzriegler.com.

12 Tapes left for Melbourne shows.

Moving on anyone? These are the 12 cassettes left for the Melbourne trip. About to pack them into the guitar case. Old Bar on Tuesday 10, Edinburgh Castle on the 13th and Saul’s place on the 14th. See you there.

Jamie’s show last night.

Not much I can really say, but thanks all for coming to hang out with me last night. I had a very fine evening. Cheers to Seja and Meredith for singing with me. (missed you Susie!!) Saul Jarvie (Microflora) played a fantastic set and I felt very lucky to have seen/heard it live for the first time. A lot of people helped make the night run smoothly and I couldn’t have done it without your help. Cheers Jamie, Stephen, Eileen and Alex! A lot of cassettes found new owners last night, but Sydney and Melbourne folk rest assured, I saved you a few. However, if last nights appetite for the tapes is any indication, and if you really want one, it may pay to come and see me early at the Syd/Melb shows. Ok, must run and pack for Sydney trip. See you there. Ps: Lawrence took this picture last night. Dark is good!

Titled “Survey #1”, this release weaves together preview material from the forthcoming album with some instrumental compositions commissioned by the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art for their German Expressionism And Beyond Season, some rare I/O3 recordings as well as previously unheard material of collaborations spanning back over the last 10 years. 15 min per side. 30 minutes of music. Alex Gillies created a special woodcut to hand print the artwork for this cassette release. The tapes were only sold at shows and the edition of 60 cassettes is now sold out.
