Currently working on a variety of projects and attempting to keep myself from being distracted. I play shows, but rarely. Occasionally make records or do improvised performances as part of I/O3. In another life I was part of groups Not From There and Nightstick.

Survey #2 (One Thousand Dreams I Never Had) will be out on the 1st of May this year through Lawrence English’s brand new A Guide To Saints imprint. Made in early 2011, it’s a collection of sounds and ideas that appeared during 80 days spent in a wooden cabin high up in the Austrian Alps. A mostly instrumental audio postcard that transcribes (amongst other things) the sensations of extreme isolation and freedom. Manifested in tonal experiments and simple movements of minimal chord progressions, it features guitar drones interpreting cloud patterns, meditations on the full moon’s light shimmering on frozen surfaces – as well as randomly fragmented expressions of sound. All of it wrapped and illuminated by the duo-tone of deep alpine winter, Survey #2 contains 13 pieces of music, intertwined to make a 34 minute edition of sound. Recorded and mixed in Brisbane with the help of Darren Jensen, the double AA side features versions of songs that will be included on a full length album to be released sometime in 2011. Longtime friends and collaborators Bo Stahlman, Stephen Mok and Alex Gillies were kind enough to create unique sets of cover art for the release, making this literally a one-of-a-kind edition. To celebrate the project, all 200 copies will go on show at Doggett Street Studios on Friday, October the 8th as part of a group exhibition that opens that evening at 6pm. As every 7” of this edition features unique cover artwork, the time the works are on display at the Doggett Street provides the only opportunity for anyone interested to handpick their favourite cover. Following the three week exhibition, all remaining copies will go on sale via mail-order as well as in selected independent record stores.Exhibition opening: 8th of October 2010 - 6pmLocation: Doggett Street Studios, 85 Doggett Street, Newstead, Brisbane.Duration: 3 weeks
